Beginner Seed Bead Necklace Workshop

Discover the joy of beadwork in this beginner friendly workshop, where you’ll learn how to create a simple stitched necklace using high quality Czech glass seed beads. This session is perfect for anyone who wants to explore beading for the first time or build confidence with basic stitching techniques.

We’ll be working with premium Preciosa seed beads, famous for their great quality, European craftsmanship, and neat, consistent shape. Which makes them a pleasure to work with.

During the workshop, you’ll learn:

• How to thread, secure, and work with beading needles
• A simple, elegant stitching technique suitable for complete beginners
• How to create a clean, even pattern using Preciosa’s uniform size 10 beads
• Tips for colour selection, pattern planning, and finishing your necklace

By the end of the session, you’ll leave with a chic handmade necklace that you could use straight away plus the skills and confidence to continue beading at home.

This is a 2 part workshop:

Week one - Saturday 3rd October 1.30-4.30pm
Make the main necklace. If you don't finish you will be able to take materials home to finish ready for week 2

Week two - Saturday 10th October 1.30-2.30pm
Finish off the necklace by adding a clasp.

All materials are included, and no previous experience is needed. Just bring your creativity and enjoy a relaxing, hands on session celebrating traditional beading techniques and contemporary jewellery design.

You tutor: Avigail Bernet

Avigail has been working with seed beads since she was 8 years old. She started making larger and more detailed pieces around 11 years ago when she moved to Brazil and got really inspired by Indigenous bead craft 

She lived in a small community in the Amazon and learned a lot of her skills from the indigenous women.

Now back in the UK, Avigail and continues with her beading, but is still inspired by Amazonian colours,.

Avigail has a BA degree in Fine arts from the University of the West of England.
