Returns & Refunds Policy for items purchased in our retail shop (but not Workshops and courses)
We hope you love everything you buy from Maker Studio, but if something isn’t quite right, we’re here to help.
In-Store Purchases
If you change your mind about an item you bought in our shop, we’re happy to offer an exchange or credit note within 28 days of purchase, as long as:
- You return the item in its original condition and packaging
- You provide proof of purchase (receipt or bank statement)
We are unable to offer refunds for in-store purchases unless the item is:
- Faulty or damaged
- Not as described
- Unfit for purpose
This does not affect your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Non-Returnable Items
We cannot accept returns on:
- Opened kits or patterns
- Cut-to-length yarn or fabric
- Perishable or custom-made items
- Workshop and course bookings
- Gift Cards
- Personalised items
Faulty or Damaged Goods
If an item is faulty or damaged, please bring it back with proof of purchase as soon as possible. We’ll either replace it, exchange it, or issue a refund, depending on the situation.

We want you to be happy with everything you order from Maker Studio. If something isn’t quite right, you have the right to return it.
Your Right to Cancel
Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations, you have the legal right to cancel your online order within 14 days of receiving it, for any reason. To do this:
Email us at kate@maker-studio.co.uk with your order number, proof of purchase and reason for return.
Return the item(s) to us within 14 days of notifying us
We’ll issue a full refund (including standard delivery costs if the item is faulty) within 14 days of receiving the returned goods, provided they are in original condition.
Please note: You are responsible for return postage costs unless the item is faulty or incorrect.
Items That Cannot Be Returned
We cannot accept returns on:
- Opened kits or patterns
- Cut-to-length yarns or fabrics
- Custom or personalised items
- Gift cards or e-gift vouchers
This does not affect your statutory rights.
Faulty or Damaged Items
If something arrives faulty or damaged, please contact us at kate@maker-studio.co.uk within 7 days of receiving your order. We’ll arrange a replacement, exchange or refund.
How to Return
You must contact us first to arrange a return, if you do not not we will not accept your return. Please return items securely packaged, ideally in the original box. Include your order number and contact details inside the parcel.
Workshops and Courses
Can I reschedule my booking?
Yes. With less than 14 days’ notice, you can you can move onto any of our other workshops or course if there is space, just pay any difference in cost, transfer the balance to a gift card or transfer your spot to a friend. Just give us a heads up.
Cancellations
If you cancel more than 14 days before the workshop, we’ll give you a full refund.
If it’s less than 14 days, we’ll try to resell your spot if the class is full. If we’re successful, you can choose a refund or move to another session.
You can also send someone in your place, just let us know their name ahead of time.
Cancellation
If we need to cancel a workshop we'll be in touch as soon as possible. Where ever possible we will reschedule it. You can choose to attend the new workshop, received a full refund or you can move onto any of our other workshops or course if there is space, just pay any difference in cost.
