PORTRAIT DRAWING WORKSHOP

Ever wanted to draw a face but never quite knew where to start? In this relaxed and friendly 2-hour session, Helen will take you through an easy-to-follow method for understanding the proportions of the human face from placing the eyes, nose and mouth to building up tone, depth and detail using graphite.

And the best bit? You’ll get to draw a face that means something to you. Bring along an A4 printed photo of a family member, friend or someone special and use it as your portrait reference. A front-facing photograph works best, so choose a clear image where you can see the whole face.

Don’t have a photo? No problem! Helen will also have a selection of interesting and inspiring faces for you to choose from.

No experience necessary. Whether you’re completely new to portrait drawing or simply want to brush up on your skills, this is a chance to slow down, get creative and discover just how much you can do with a pencil.

All materials are provided.

Your tutor - Helen Baker

Helen is an artist and art tutor who loves living by the sea in sunny Eastbourne with her Husband and two children. With a background in Textile Design, she is inspired by the patterns and textures found in nature and the everyday items that surround us. Helen strongly believe in the mindful benefits of still life drawing, slowing down and taking notice of the small details. Losing yourself in the creative flow drawing brings. Still Life Drawing is a great way to practice, build on your artistic skills, develop techniques and grow confidence.
