Photography Workshop

4 hour photography workshop for beginners or for people who want to sharpen up their skills.

Basics of DSLR photography
- The three elements of exposure
- Shutter speed, Aperture, and Film Speed.
- How one can control exposure using these three manual settings.
- The use of 'white balance' to control the tone of pictures.
- Techniques on how to freeze motion and how to create motion blur.
- How to create different visual effects by altering depth of field, playing with aperture and focus.

Vikram will start the session with a slide show of example of his work. He will then guide you through the basics of DSLR photography. Next is a practical session with the skills you've just learnt. There will be a short break in the middle of the workshop. Vikram will end with a short critique of your work and give you tips on how to improve.

Your tutor - Vikram Kushwah
Vikram  is a British-Indian photography artist, based on the south coast of England. He finished his post graduate diploma in photography in 2009 at London College of Communication, after which in 2010 he completed a Masters in Photography at UCA, Rochester. His work has been exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery London, Photo London, and PhotoVogue Festival Milan, alongside being published in The Guardian, The Telegraph magazine, Vogue, The Financial Times magazine, PhotoVogue, and PH Museum. In 2023-24, he collaborated with Coca-Cola on their blockbuster ad-campaign, 'Masterpiece'. His work has been exhibited and auctioned at Bonhams, London. His photographs are part of private and corporate art collections across the UK, Europe, North America and Asia.
