New to oil pastels? This relaxed and friendly workshop is perfect for beginners and anyone looking to explore a new creative medium.

You’ll discover the expressive qualities of oil pastels through playful mark-making, layering and blending, while enjoying the tactile experience of working with vibrant oil pastels.

You’ll then put these techniques into practice by creating fun, colourful fruit and vegetable-inspired artworks. You’ll work from a selection of reference images, as well as a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables in the studio, giving you plenty of inspiration to develop your own unique piece.

No previous art experience is needed and all materials are provided.

Your tutor - Helen Baker

Helen is an artist and art tutor who loves living by the sea in sunny Eastbourne with her Husband and two children.

With a background in Textile Design, she is inspired by the patterns and textures found in nature and the everyday items that surround us.

Helen strongly believe in the mindful benefits of still life drawing, slowing down and taking notice of the small details. Losing yourself in the creative flow drawing brings. Still Life Drawing is a great way to practice, build on your artistic skills, develop techniques and grow confidence.
