This is a beginner friendly workshop. Explore colour using handmade natural inks and paints created from plants, food and natural materials.

Experiment with mark making, layering and texture while learning simple techniques for making & using natural pigments, adjusting their consistency and vibrancy. A playful, hands on workshop focused on creativity, colour and process.

You are welcome to bring along an existing piece of work to develop further, or start something completely new during the workshop.

You will experiment with a range of natural inks & paints and learn techniques on how to make your own. In the class you'll also make your own ink/paint to take home with you.

We'll be using Ink & Paints made with marigold, logwood, hibiscus, dandelion, madder, blackcurrant, chamomile and iron and copper water.  The images show here have been made with these inks  paints by Claire.

By the end of the workshop participants will:
- Learn practical techniques for working with natural paint & inks
- Create their own artwork
- Learn how to make basic inks & paints with natural materials.
- Make their own natural ink or paint to take home
- Gain ideas and approaches they can continue exploring at home
- Enjoy a creative, relaxed and inspiring evening making art

All material costs are included
- Please do not come dressed in your favourite clothes, or bring an apron. Natural ink & paint may stain fabric and your skin. We'll be providing non latex gloves but please bring you own if you would like to.
