In this relaxed and inclusive writing class, everyone is welcome to write and share stories. We do a series of short, evocative exercises to get you over your writer's block and leave the class with a series of places to carry on where you left off. Each class we have a go at writing in non-fiction, poetic and fiction form.

Thursday 19th March  10am-12.30pm

Writing on 'Light'
As the light starts to return to our days, we will use this as our theme- bringing the light into our writing (even if it rains on the day!)
Friday 24th April  10am-12.30pm

Writing on 'Spring'
Spring in your step, a buzz in your pens, let's write about the best season there is!

Your tutor - Sapphire Allard

Sapphire lives and works in Eastbourne, teaching Creative Writing at the local college.
She holds a PhD in fiction from the University of Kent but currently mostly writes poetry in the scraps of time she has in between work and caring for two small people! She is a big believer of writing in small bursts of time & loves hearing the magic her students create in a few minutes...

Customer Reviews

Went to the recent beginner lino print workshop here and had a really relaxing evening. Well organised, great staff and a lovely place to spend an evening crafting. Thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend.

Had my first crochet lesson this morning-such a calm relaxed setting and I can now crochet! It’s great to see these independent businesses setting up and sharing their knowledge with others. Already signed up for another workshop.

I really enjoyed my beginners crochet classes. They were fun and relaxed and I have learnt a lot. Kate is great, very patient & an inspirational tutor. She has given me the confidence to use the new skills I have leant to start my own crochet projects. I look forward to joining future classes that she holds.

Amazing place for anyone who loves arts and craft or excellent coffee! Kate is incredibly kind and patient. The sessions are well designed and thoughtfully set up. The group sizes are perfect. Sociable but small enough that you can ask tonnes of questions as you go. I can’t recommend this place enough. It’s a dream come true to have round the corner.

Came here for a linocut workshop - absolutely fab! The shop has lots of really cute arts and crafts for sale and they also sell tea/coffee. Highly recommend the hot chocolate!
